Today, we have been on a very special visit.

Our day started very early, at 8:30am! We had to travel by metro all the way to Kingston Park to take part in a rugby tournament – ‘The King Of Tag’. We went along with some Year 5 and 6 children who were also taking part in the event, as well as some special guests from 3/4W.

Once there, we divided up into 3 teams, and began to play our fixtures against other schools from Gateshead and Newcastle. We had to work together to pass the ball between us (sideways and backwards only of course) to get the ball over the try line, before the other team could tag us, otherwise we had to restart our attempt.

The children all showed excellent team spirit, sportsmanship and enthusiasm.  It was then time for the long metro journey back to Gateshead before our assembly.

The children were all a credit to South Street, and have done themselves and their teachers proud.

Well done 3/4 (and 5/6 too)!
