Wednesday 4th July was the date of the Year 3/4 World Cup Day! All three classes joined together in the hall for our opening celebration (in Russian!) and then the girls went out onto the field for their tournament (The boys held their competition in the afternoon).
The competing teams were: Brazil, Germany, Russia, England, France and Nigeria.
The girls’ final was held between Brazil and England, with England coming out as victors! Congratulations! The whole school was there to watch England triumph in the World Cup Final.
In the afternoon, the boys held their tournament. Their final saw France beat Germany to be crowned champions of the Boys South Street World Cup.
Fair play awards were also awarded, and all players showed excellent sportsmanship towards each other. A huge congratulations to everyone involved!
