The weather might have been lacking on Friday but Years 1 and 2 still had a great time at Beamish!
We stepped back in time and experienced school as the Victorian children would have. What a surprise it was to find that the school “Marm” used to teach at South Street!
We explored the coal mine, visited the pit village, and had a good tour of the town. The trams and buses were definite favourites for the children, but the ultimate treat was the Sweet Shop!
The children will use this experience to write a recall of their trip and we think it will have inspired some amazing adjectives!
