On Tuesday 15th January, the children in 5/6A and 5/6I received a visit from Mr Oakes, a science teacher from Emmanuel College.
We spent the morning looking at the digestive system, and modelling the system using a bowl, a bag, and some tights. We looked at what our body adds at different stages to help us absorb all the nutrients from our food that we need.
We then looked at the circulatory system, to discover just how the heart works and pumps blood around the body. We were even given the chance to look inside of a real heart! (A chance to learn important information of how the heart works and what we can do to help look after it!)
We are looking forward to his next visits, where our sessions will be on Chemistry and Physics.
