Years 5 and 6 received a visit from Northumbria University to learn some computer science.

We began with a tray of lego pieces, and instructions for building ‘Milo’, the robot.  Working in teams, we ensured the instructions were followed, and began testing making Milo move, using an iPad. We had to code him so thathe would move forwards, ready for the race.

We placed the robots in a line and used the commands on the app to direct Milo towards the finish line as fast as possible.

We needed to work together to build and code a successful Milo, and all of the children worked really well in their teams.
