We are always looking for spare uniforms for children in our school. There will be many parents who have children growing out of their uniforms quicker than they could wear them out. We are asking parents to donate any of the following items which are in good condition (washed) to our School Office:
* Sweatshirts, cardigans, PE kits
* School trousers
* School skirts, pinafores
* School summer dresses
A lot of clothing is made of organic material, meaning that it is derived from natural sources and is biodegradable. But landfills lack the oxygen needed for organic materials to break down so, when clothing does end up in a landfill, it decomposes through anaerobic digestion. At South Street, we aim to try and be as environmentally friendly as possible and recycling school uniforms means we are helping reduce the impact on landfill sites.
All schools uniforms will be washed and ironed and sold back within the community at reduced cost, This help you as parents as it cuts your costs and it helps us as a school as all moneys raised goes back into our school budget, towards things such as Accelerated Reader books or even Project:Playground
Thank you so much for the donations that have already come in. Please keep them coming!
